Eldorado
We are Eldorado. Quality people, producing quality products,
improving people’s quality of life as we work together to be
the number one producer of fresh leafy greens, in South Africa.
Eldorado was the first producer to grow Iceberg Lettuce in a hydroponic system in Southern Africa and is currently the largest producer of Iceberg Lettuce in the region.
What we do
Eldorado is known for both its innovation and the quality of the products we grow, and we work hard to stay on top of our game.
We are a 100% hydroponic farm, which gives us the ability to provide our crops with the watchful attention they need to become the best. We are also able to grow all our products, all year round.

The dedicated staff at Eldorado nurture everything we grow with you in mind. Our aim to make sure that what you put on your plate is as fresh and as full of life as it can be.
We think of it as being from Seed-to-Soul.
Our product lines
Eldorado currently has 40 hectares of hydroponic farming in operation. Our growing programmes run throughout the entire year and include the following product lines:

Cos (Romaine) lettuce, famous for Cesar salads, is a bold, burst of crunchiness
BABY GEM LETTUCE
Baby Gem Lettuce is compact in size, has a reputation as the sweetest of all lettuce varieties, plus it has tender leaves and a rich flavour profile.
How we do it
Sustainable Agriculture
To achieve this, we always work at being the number one producer of fresh leafy greens in Southern Africa. At Eldorado we embrace a sustainable approach to agriculture. Sustainable means that it is good for the earth and good for business but, very importantly, it is also good for you.
Premium Quality Seedlings
The fresh leafy greens you enjoy from Eldorado begin life in our own very efficient nursery. This provides premium quality seedlings all year round for our whole farm. Each healthy seedling finds a well-prepared home in the hydroponic system, where it is given everything it needs to thrive. Produce is expertly harvested at just the right time and is then taken swiftly and efficiently to our onsite packing facility.
Well-equipped Packing Facility
Our well-equipped packing facility is designed for maximum effectiveness for processing each healthy product efficiently and carefully, so that you receive it in peak condition. The short interval between harvest and processing means that our customers receive a superior quality product with a longer shelf life.
Eldorado products can be found on every shelf across our beautiful country, thanks to our loyal customers.

Food Safety Standards & Certification
We are proud to be fully certified by Global GAP, Farming for the Future. We are also compliant with the Food Safety Assessment (FSA) audits, conducted by Intertek, and the Social Compliance (ethical) audits, conducted by IBL Africa on behalf of the major retailers.
